Without sleep, our empathy fades. Real stories: “I’m happy when a patient leaves against medical advice, so I have less patients to round on.” It looks like, “Feeling anger towards a patient who presented to the ER at 3 am while on a 24-hour call.”
Many of our “at risk” students don’t need lectures on grit. They need access to appropriate resources and support! They’ve been getting it out the mud for a long time - lets see how they perform when they are well resourced.
Most schools claiming these high match rates are conflating their *match rate* (the % of students who got a position in the Match) with their *placement rate* (which includes students who went unmatched, but got a position in the SOAP or scramble).
