Okey Paulicap Okeke, an Igbo man born and raised in Ilesa, Osun State, was elected president of the Ijesa Progressive Association of Canada (IPAC) in 2017 and they allowed him to serve them for eight solid years of prosperity.

Despite his Igbo ancestry (He is from ndeaboh in Aninri LGA of Enugu State), he was widely accepted by the Ijesa community because of his deep connection to Ijesaland and his outstanding leadership.

During his eight years as president, Okeke worked to improve the lives of Ijesa people both in Canada and Nigeria. His dedication and contributions earned him the prestigious chieftaincy title of Otun Atayese of Ijebu-Jesa in 2022.

His story demonstrates that leadership, service, and a sense of belonging should be valued above ethnic differences. It is a powerful reminder that Nigerians can build unity by rejecting tribalism and embracing one another.
