👉It remains important to see not only the work of the organizations in exile, but also the people behind them. Without a proper residence status for the activists, the work of the organizations will be even more difficult.
In #Belarus, more than 1500 civil society organizations are now liquidated, many activists work from exile. Last week, representatives of exiled organizations reflected on their activities at an event organized by @AKBelarus and the @BoellStiftung. 🧵
👉The human rights situation in Belarus is worse than ever. The work of human rights activists currently consists mainly of documenting the daily crimes committed by the Lukashenka regime and publicizing them to the international community.

"Three years of state of emergency: Belarusian civil society in autumn 2023" - as part of our @Net4Belarus, @belarusrazam today hosted a media discussion with Manfred Huterer (former 🇩🇪 ambassador in #Belarus until 7/23), Olha Shparaga and a representative of @belarusrazam🧵
The representative of @belarusrazam sees #Lukashenka's decree on passports as an act of revenge by the regime against Belarusians who fled the regime. Despite the high level of repressions, Belarus is considered a safe country of origin in 🇩🇪, and individual cases are examined.
