An interesting aside in the article is that NSL recorded a loss of £1 million last season.....so there could be the answer for Ms Nelson's departure. Netball isn't big enough to lose that much every year. Changes, probably drastic ones, are needed - NOW !! Eyes on EN....finally!

Serious questions need to be asked of England Netball, who seem so keen on rewarding failure. Am told the candidate pool for netball's top job was small, with one insider saying: “Overseas coaches won’t touch it. No one wants to work for them.” https://t.co/YNKQfyOMXo

@Katyjstokes In short no, we all lump on, it’s very tribal 🤣

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@YaThinkN Personally 1. I think reducing to 8 teams and not having them spread fairly geographically hasn’t helped. 2. They have abandoned genuine fans in search of a new, young demographic, that hasn’t paid off & 3. the management of the league has been a disaster.

@FluffyRona @kat2801 @YaThinkN thats a very good point, i'd forgotten about that.

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@ConsultancyPugh @Katyjstokes Why is there no Defence coach? Is one being announced later perhaps?

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@cranberrywelly @JazNetty @__maclean Absolutely. Let’s face it she dismantled Storm to build Wasps after they’d given her a testimonial match as well, I mean ungrateful or what? 🤣

@netballB34 🤣🤣

Roses squad for upcoming series…… don’t know why you need a different reserve for home and away !

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@cazzrhughes Pass 🤷🏻‍♂️

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@beccaaahhh Yep…..who knew eh? 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

[Becca @beccaaahhh]

Wait… are we saying that the ‘we want to market to new fans’, the aim towards kids instead of those that would happily spend money on netball and disappearing off the one social media platform that allows accessible engagement didn’t work?!

Well.
I’ll be damned.
🤦‍♀️🙄🥲

@fi_tomas_ Fantastic article, thankyou Fi, great work. It's about time EN were exposed to a wider audience.

@kelly_walker @croucheygooch Sorry to butt in mid convo but I thought/expected Baroness Sue Campbell was going to bring all those qualities.....then she comes out with that b/s yesterday so she's as much use as a chocolate teapot !!

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@IzzyVanB1 The irony is that TG as a pundit is the most honest and critical of the lot when it comes to Roses. EN have now gotten rid of that situation 😂

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@IzzyVanB1 Yes exactly and she'd be a popular choice with fans as well. I think the chance for TG has come and gone, I dont think the Scotland stint did her any good (criticising her shooters live on tv mid match) & as you say Mavs & NWYC coaching hasn't been great.

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@lalaanny @YaThinkN Yes, the total self awareness was incredible, and not in a good way. Embarrassingly bad.

[Courtside Comments @NetballComments]

@tottmak @BigredNetball With TG now on the coaching staff prepare to scream 🤣
