Now you address 1012 horses are "slaughtered"

I think this is a misappropriation of the term へい死 as officially by JRA 斃死 is stated as horses which die from accidents, injuries, or sickness. Not slaughter.

This is not a registry list but the number of horses that retire by the way. The video clearly addresses there is no data that address the slaughter or what happens to horses beyond their retirement, and the woman is assuming what happens to it.

In terms of how it affected his racing career, I think it's just that he lost interest in racing
