In 1947, the Dakota carried soldiers into a defining moment in India's history. In the years ahead, drones, sensors and networked systems will continue to reshape how infantry operates. But the final test of military capability is not how advanced the technology looks. It is whether soldiers can accomplish their mission when it matters most.
Salute to the Indian Army's infantrymen, veterans and fallen heroes.

The infantry's story is not confined to one regiment, one operation, or one generation. It includes soldiers who fought in 1947, those who served in later wars and operations, and today's personnel operating in some of the world's most demanding environments. Behind every capability is a person who must be prepared to use it under pressure and accept the risks that come with the task.
