@fillthewhole The term ‘flu’ is a euphemism for Covid;
‘Lurgy’ is a detrimental term to deceive us vain humans that we are superior to nature.
I have heard the term, ‘dreaded lurgy’ used to self-deceive even more. ‘The dreaded lurgy’! (chuckle, chuckle). ‘I’m getting over it slowly.’
Walking along a pavement after visiting a relative in hospital, there was a woman ahead. She was facing me with a friendly but dutiful stance.
‘Why are you wearing a mask, darling?’ she said.
‘To protect you,’ I said.
The speech she had prepared fell apart. Silence.
@fillthewhole That’d be no good, Lara. Then we human beings would have to admit to ourselves that we aren’t in control of nature, but that nature is in control of us.”
@OccupyNN@PeteUK7 Good advice, but forced into guesswork and scattered ‘facts’. Such an important virus should cause us to react as we would to smallpox and to tuberculosis and Ebola. Not because these infections are of equal danger, but unlike the rest, the reputation of Covid is vague.
A hospital visit.
Me to a nurse: how many times have you had Covid?
She: Six.
Me: Be careful. You’re in line for long Covid.
She: (laughs)

@healingfromlc And yet some doctors are able to confess in the best modern way that medicine is carried out in narrow channels with failures on the outside…
@BobbieFoley14@sameo416@Ninawildflower The patients surely vary a bit or a lot. Any non-believers in the existence of Covid? If so, how do you deal with them?
