Framed like that, I would change my tune. Perhaps the most apt way to say it would be, 10 times less effort to get a month’s worth of work done. Which in turn makes it feel like you are able to get a year’s worth of work done in a month.
That said, it’s all relative. Do I feel like I get a year’s worth of work done in a month, with current models? No! I always feel like I’m doing too little.
Do I feel like I’m getting a year’s worth of work done in a month when compared to pre-AI (2021 and prior)? Yes, I think so! At least several months worth.
@ironcarbs@ThePrimeagen a lot! mostly though, this comes down to work, not things i’ve built. being able to effectively delegate and context switch a lot is key, but the speed up comes from handling months worth of tasks within 1 month, rather than building a years worth of “stuff” in a month.
@ironcarbs@ThePrimeagen Yeah, would say 7-10x isn’t that crazy considering you’re using the tools to their absolute limit and your job works in such a way that you can achieve that without being bottlenecked elsewhere.
I wanna see fine hand movements and more hand engineering for Atlas, with it being the most complex part, i understand they’ve made trade-offs.
Other than this, Boston Dynamics seems to have the most impressive hardware & on board AI so far.
Everyone asks if Atlas can bring them a drink, but this robot can bring you the whole fridge. Using AI-driven behaviors, Atlas is doing hard work and coordinating its whole body to manage heavy objects, balancing complex contact points with accuracy and reliability.
