In 2005, 15-year-old Viorica Cimpoca from Moldova wanted to read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince so badly that she copied the entire book by hand.
The novel was difficult to obtain in Moldova at the time, and buying or importing a copy was too expensive for her family.
After borrowing the book from a friend, she spent about a month carefully writing every page into five notebooks.
The remarkable story was reported by the BBC shortly after the book's release and became one of the most memorable examples of a reader's dedication to a favorite series.
Long before e-books and instant downloads, Viorica created her own copy the hard way, one handwritten page at a time.
