If an Indian newspaper had broken the story, wrong or right , it would be part of the play of domestic politics.

But this is a US newspaper breaking a story about the so-called Adani- Modi axis , which has been earlier played up by a US based entity and by the Congress party in a bid to rock the BJP government by raising a controversy involving Modi.

There is clearly a conspiracy to keep the political pot boiling in India in which US interests are involved.

WP and other western media operate in India with a sense of impunity.

Some tightening up is required as a warning against interfering in domestic politics with a malign intent.

Turkey is receiving natural gas from Russia, bypassing Ukraine, through the Blue Stream Pipeline.

It is also the biggest buyer of Russian refined petroleum products and acts as a transit point to circumvent EU sanctions.

But Trump is not sanctioning Turkey with high tariffs and evades answering the reporter’s question honestly.

In Trump’s view Turkey’s purchase of Russian gas/ petroleum products is not responsible for the killings in Ukraine.

But India is responsible and he is hitting at us.

Indian IT services firms Bailed Out because Big Tech & Health Care in US run on H1B. There would have been a systematic collapse & shortage of the skilled workforce. The exceptions in Executive Order provide for suspension of the order for certain firms. The Interdependence of two economies and the tech ecosystems saved the day.

The White House had to literally walk back the order, even new applications may not attract this onetime fee if the secretary thinks there is a case for exceptions. JP Morgan, Microsoft, Apple, Google, META all have H1B, so do Doctors, Nurses & other scientific institutes.

TCS, Infosys have already taken down H1B applications by 50% over the last few years. Top Indian IT firms employ nearly 27000 H1B which is half of what they earlier had in 50,000+ ! This trend is gonna increase even more. This executive order will lead to more off-shoring & GCCs being set up in India to get around H1B EO.

But over time Indian IT must now move towards more product oriented service, adoption of AI & Engineering services, diversify their offering geographically. Tatas in TCS, Tata Elxsi & Tata Technologies are already on the move towards it. I hope other IT Giants join the queue especially Infosys. The Murthy & Nilekani model of Service is now outdated. The Indian IT firms must start funding Tech Startups in India. Build your own stacks from engineering, product designing, AI integration & services.

We need more Palantir's not Eternal (Zomato) & Swiggy. Anyone who thinks Eternal & Swiggy are tech stocks should get an MRI scan done. We need more backward integration in the tech sector. Semiconductors, GPUs, AI Models, Sovereign Cloud, Data Centers etc. Thankfully many firms have already embarked on that journey be it TCS, Elxsi, Tata Communications, Airtel, Jio Infocomm, Adani Data Centers, L&T Tech Division & now even Reliance Intelligence under RIL.

As i wrote few days back its not just about Tech Ecosystem but Data Center Farms, Automation, with more focus on EVs & Hybrids in Auto Sector for public transport and private vehicles so that fuel consumption and import bill of oil can be driven down.

We need hyper focus on Defence Indigenisation like Drones, Missile Defence Systems, Laser Guided technologies, Jets, Missiles, Destroyers and in large numbers.

And then lastly we need more focus on Renewable Energy, Battery Storage (BESS), Green Hydrogen, Nuclear Power and power transmission to free up Power Grids for Industrial use from Semiconductor Plants to Data Center Farms to Manufacturing and Industrial purposes.

These three verticals of Technology specially Automation & Integration of AI, Defence Indigenisation and Power and Renewable Energy needs mega push by Government as well as private capex investments. Already many companies have been building capacities in these fields. The Regulator in RBI & the FinMin needs to get lending for this capex going, nudge the Banks & NBFCs for lending cycle to kickstart this massive infra boom. Only the nature of Infra investment would change from Railways & Roads to Data Centers, Defence, Renewable Energy, Power Transmission & Tech Parks focusing towards new age industries in IR 4.0 (Industrial Revolution 4.0).
