The first sign of spiritual warfare is laziness. You suddenly become lazy and completely unmotivated to do basic things like reading your Bible, studying, or even cleaning your room. If you don't fight it, it progresses. You start feeling sad for no reason. This sadness comes with a physical heaviness, like a dark weight is literally resting on your shoulders. Then, that sadness turns into bitterness and anger. Nothing excites you anymore.
Adeife is right.
I watched her video, and honestly, I share the same mindset.
Every time you come on social media, especially tiktok ,it is:
“10 things to do to get a man who loves you.”
“Why men hate you.”
“Why men do this.”
“Patriarchy.”
“Why your marriage will fail.”
“Why women should do this or that.”
At some point, what exactly are we gaining from these conversations?
Meanwhile, there are so many women and ideas we could be platforming.
Look at people like Chimamanda Adichie. Talk about government. Talk about policy. Talk about business, education, leadership, technology, entertainment, culture, economics, innovation.
I have deliberately pursued things that expanded my mind and made me stand out.
So I genuinely do not understand why so many women’s conversations online have become narrowed down to patriarchy, men, relationships and marriage.
Yes, society has conditioned women in certain ways.
Yes, patriarchy exists.
But if there are things we cannot immediately change, why not put more energy into the things we CAN change?
Why are we constantly consuming and creating content that does not edify us?
What exactly am I supposed to do with information about how terrible men are, how bad marriage is, or how men supposedly think?
How does that information make me a better woman?
And this is where I agree with Adeife about ambition.
Some of you are ready to bash her because she mentioned that we are not ambitious.
But ambition is not synonymous with making quick money.
Ambition is studying.
Ambition is learning.
Ambition is knowing the people who matter in your industry.
Ambition is understanding your field deeply.
Ambition is knowing the five pillars of the entertainment industry and understanding where you fit.
Ambition is building something meaningful.
Ambition is having a vision beyond “I just want to make money.”
And yes, she mentioned social media management, which is literally my full-time job. But when I watched her video, I did not immediately get defensive because of my profession.
I looked beyond that.
I understood the perspective she was trying to communicate.
That is the problem sometimes.
We hear one thing that touches our pride and immediately start looking for reasons to bash the person instead of asking, “Is there something here I need to learn?”
So, ladies, calm down.
Watch Adeife’s video again.
Listen to what she is actually saying.
Let it sit with you.
It may sting your pride, but swallow it.
And if your FYP is constantly feeding you content about men, patriarchy, bad marriages and relationship wars, maybe it is time to change your FYP.
Platform the right people.
Expand your interests.
Expand your mind.
There is a whole world beyond men.
I'm not gon' lie, when I first saw Adeife's video on Instagram, I was genuinely motivated.
Then later that evening, I opened X and was surprised by how a lot of people interpreted what she said differently.
My brain is full from everything I've read since then, but see ehh...
Maybe you haven't sat down to have certain conversations with some Nigerian girls.
And I can only speak from my experience.
I've been in spaces where you ask someone what success looks like to them and their entire plan is to go through uni, acquire a skill, make enough to afford the basics, and hopefully meet a rich man who makes life much softer.
I kid you not, I met girls like this in school.
And that's partly why, till today, I'm very picky about my relationships and the people I keep around me.
Because when you constantly sit with people who don't want much more for themselves, somehow, their idea of "enough" can start rubbing off on you too.
Before you know it, you too suddenly just want to have man.😭
And this is where I understood what Adeife was trying to say about ambition.
Let's not pretend there aren't people who have already decided the extent of the life they want to live.
Once they can make some money, afford the basics and live comfortably, that's it.
And no, I don't think ambition means everybody has to become a pilot, or engineer.
Neither do I think wanting a peaceful, comfortable life means you're automatically unambitious.
But I do think there has to be something beyond merely surviving and being comfortable that you want to do with your life and abilities.
Something that makes you ask, "What more can I do with what I have?"
Ehen, let's use being a VA or social media manager, for example.
The question isn't, "When are you going to leave social media management and do something bigger?"
The question is:
How far can you take it?
What else can this skill become in your hands?
My brother once told me about a girl he was considering dating.
When they eventually got talking about life, ambition and the kind of future they both wanted, he realised they were worlds apart.
And the interesting thing was that he was willing to support her if there was something bigger she wanted to pursue.
But you can't manufacture ambition for another person.
You can't want more for somebody who has already decided that what they have is enough for them.
I even remember when I wanted to learn social media management last year.
My brother was SO against it. 😭
He wanted me to learn the "hard" stuff, build something solid from it, and then use that to sponsor whatever else I was passionate about.
(Somebody will now come and say, "So social media management is not hard?"
Trust me, it is. I just need to convince him with my results and what I can build from it)
So you see, sometimes, the skill isn't the problem.
The question is what you intend to do with it.
And that's why, despite everything people have said about this video, I understand the conversation she was trying to start.
Maybe she didn't communicate every part of it perfectly.
But the people who genuinely needed to hear that message?
Trust me, they know themselves like mad. 😭
Ambition isn't necessarily about abandoning where you started or chasing money endlessly.
It's refusing to believe that where you are today is the full extent of what you can become.
And sometimes, you genuinely need exposure to realise that.
If everyone around you is only trying to survive, survival can start looking like the biggest thing there is to aspire to.
So meet people doing big things.
Read about people building things you didn't even know were possible.
Enter rooms that stretch the way you think.
And whatever path or career you've chosen for yourself, decide that you're going to make something meaningful out of it.
There's so much to do.
So much to be.
So much to live for.
Please, use your beautiful brain for more.💚
You get employed in a Nigerian company, they tell you, "we address each other on a first name basis."
You look around and what you mostly see are "elders" in their late 40s and 50s.
Disobey that policy with your full chest o.
I will have the rare privilege of being in the audience of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and then go ahead to start my question with:
“Hello, Ngozi.” 😭😭😭
And you people will say that she has worked as the head of an international organization, and is already used to it 😩😩
That's why I should call her Ngozi??????
Are we okay as a nation? 😭😭
E no heavy you for mouth
You people are so dishonest on this app..
A sign of enlightenement is to also be culturally and socially aware...stop all these woke nonsense.
Nigeria is not ready to adopt the first name basis in it’s cooperate culture
We cannot approbate and reprobate at the same time.
In China and Korea, We see them bowing to each other in cooperate spaces
Let’s stick to our identity please
The even bigger lesson here is that she didn’t make any corrective gesture. A person of that stature has just corrected you, you ought to show that you’ve taken on the correction with an explicit “I am sorry sir” with a smile, or with your body language. It communicates “I didn’t mean to be disrespectful”. But she staged a ‘come-back’ face instead.
There’s an education a lot of GenZs have gotten from the internet about corporate relations and comms that’s largely flawed.
“If you come late, don’t say ‘I’m sorry.’ Say ‘thank you for your patience’ instead”
“If someone points out an error in your work, don’t say ‘thank you’ or ‘I’m sorry about that’, say ‘good catch’ instead”
They sold apologies as a weakness. It’s really unfortunate. In a lot of cases, correction is a gift, a gift of context and perspective, that you can learn from. But an entire generation has been taught that correction is an attack and apologies are signs of weakness.
You women never write books about how to make money, build yourself, grow your career, or improve your life. It’s always how to h8te men, how to deal with men, how to survive men, how husbands are useless.
For people who claim to h8te men, you talk about men A LOT.
That aside, there is no way I’m spending my money on a book called “Husband Is Useless.”
I haven’t even experienced marriage yet. You want me to spend my money reading a book that is basically telling me to enter marriage already expecting my husband to be useless? Ain’t no way I’m doing that shiiii.
But you know your target audience sha.
One sign of a healthy relationship: both people treat each other’s vulnerability like a secret, not content.
The internet will mock him today and forget tomorrow.
But you’ll still have to face the man you exposed.
There’s a trend on social media with women especially. They are quick to share vulnerable things about their husbands/ partners on the internet. Thereby exposing the man to mockery from every Tom, Dick and Harry. It never made sense and will never make sense.
One indicator of a healthy relationship is the ability of both parties to protect the vulnerability of each other.

This thing we do in church circles where we hide wolves because of PR is a demonic behaviour o! A person is ruining the lives of young girls/women and you’re more concerned about the news not getting out than getting justice and imprisoning the animal. This is why the pulpit of filled with beasts and pews with wounded sheep. May we all have sense o!
