@carolinagamer99@A_dmg04 Things like solo-flawless pit completions, zero hour speed runs, reaching legend in comp... I don’t care about a stat for that. I have the emblem. Wearing the emblem shows that I’ve done it. That’s enough for me.
@carolinagamer99@A_dmg04 Precisely this. I liked knowing what stats I was looking at, based on the emblem itself. And on top of that, I wanted to ability to simply turn the stats off if I wished.
@FalconStickr@Wiindowlicker75@A_dmg04 Trials was gone for 2 years. They said they wanted to take the time to “get it right”. Well it’s back, and it’s not just slightly broken... it’s a damn train wreck. I’m totally in favour of being positive, but at a certain point it becomes delusional.

Apologies for the rant. Again, much appreciation for what you and the whole team do. Just trying to clarify where I believe my own frustration comes from. Hope this is helpful.

We want to trust Bungie’s skill and instincts as developers so we can feel excited about whatever is coming next, rather than feeling like each new season is a whole bunch of junk thrown at a wall, and it’s up to us to sort the good from the bad and communicate it.
@DanStapleton@AckChually He said the mainstream gaming press wants to take over the e-sports coverage market, which is neither surprising nor hard to believe, given the popularity of esports. And he accurately pointed out the laughing stock that is esports coverage by Waypoint, Kotaku, etc.
@DanStapleton@AckChually So I wouldn’t use scare quotes to label BAD journalists (actual journalists who are just bad at there job), but IMO there are plenty of so-called journalists who don’t actually do that job at all.
@DanStapleton@AckChually No idea if this applies to the article in question, but...
There are people who refer to themselves as “journalists” without actually being journalists. Some are activists, some are glorified marketing arms. I find a great deal of our media, games media included, falls into this.
@BlameHush I agree with your sentiment, but it isn’t the exact same as D1. That’s part of the problem. They completely changed the reward structure AND the quality of the rewards themselves. While not the only problem, that’s a huge factor.
@A_dmg04 I’m not a fan of the entire seasonal mod system. Customizing loadouts is already so time consuming and resource draining, and the seasonal mods are just too niche and temporary to be worth my time. I’d rather just have stronger weapons than have to jump through these hoops.
