Right now, most of the gameโs audio is packed into one huge .pck file of 2.14 GB.
That means even a small sound replacement could require shipping a modified version of the entire package.
Haruspis is changing that.
Alongside some major things i am working on, i've begun to write a script for a video tutorial series on halo 3's editing kit, to bring a more updated tutorial for the community, it won't dive into intense technical details but i will try to always explain things in a good format
Haruspis is expanding.
Linux and Steam Deck support are now in development, bringing Haruspis closer to a seamless experience across more platforms.
This is still heavily work in progress, but it is an important step forward for the project.
Currently building a size-optimization feature for Halo Wars mods on Haruspis.
5.06GB -> 1.63GB (Leader Overhaul)
1.59GB -> 387MB (Judgement Edition)
3.61GB -> 1.5GB (Scrubb Edition)
3.51GB -> 1.54GB (More Leaders Mod Reforged)
Coming in the next update.
@Slayerkiller537 M&K controls are a tricky one. Changing them can cause multiplayer desyncs, so itโs not something we can safely โfixโ without breaking compatibility.

Haruspis is changing that.
Mods will be able to load loose audio files directly at runtime, without replacing the full audio package.
No 2.14 GB overhead.
No massive files for tiny changes.
Much easier to create, share, and install.
Full usage documentation will release alongside the update.
the Halo Wars E3 tech demo is still my dream Halo game, the general visual presentation of it is so strong you could so clearly see the vision the team had for the complete product here
Idea: Steam meets GoFundMe/Kickstarter
Fans of games that donโt get new updates put up money and select basic support they would like to see (bug fixes, mod support, etc). Dev could agree to do the extended support and trigger the funding after delivering (bit hand wavy here)
