Special Projects Coordinator & Designated Safeguarding Lead at @CHADD1979 focused on and passionate about tackling #DomesticAbuse and all round Prosecco Queen
Accessing money can be difficult for women experiencing domestic abuse. We know that it can stop women from travelling to access safety and can be a huge barrier to support. Our Rail to Refuge scheme means survivors can travel for free to their confirmed refuge space.
When I first met my husband, I used to run 3/4 times a week on my own. I had to explain why I only ran during daylight & that I never wore earphones as I needed to be alert to what was happening around me. He was shocked, never occurred to him as a man how women assess our safety
We welcome the much-needed changes to the #DABill, but we remain concerned the legislation continues to exclude migrant women from equal support. There is a significant gap in the bill that must be fixed if it is going to work for ALL women.

@norman_nicki@NewBeginnnings@womensaid Thank you Nicki for leading Women’s Aid and the sector so well through such challenging times. So many of us are inspired by and grateful for all you’ve done.
An enormous congratulations to everyone involved in campaigning for the other amendments that have gone through — non-fatal strangulation and threatening to share intimates images will both be criminalised in the #DABill. This is such excellent news, we are delighted.
Today marks the end of my time as acting CEO for @womensaid. It’s been a challenging 2 yrs for so many reasons & I couldn’t have got through it without the support of some amazing women - you know who you are - & such a brilliant team 😊 we’ve achieved so much to be proud of! 1/2

its @WhiteRibbon_UK day, wear your white ribbon with pride, it's not just a symbol-its an attitude, and with enough attitude we can do wonders, violence has no part to play in any relationship, you can't control someone you love & you can't be loved by someone you are controlling
#DA sadly continues to rise amid #COViD19 both as a nation & globally- today on #IDEVAW2020 recognise this gender abuse & take part in #16Days to educate others 🙏
1 in 3 women experience violence in their lifetime -- and amid #COVID19, domestic abuse has surged worldwide.
On Wednesday's Int'l Day to End Violence against Women, @UN_Women explains how YOU can take action: https://t.co/CW8xnoB3tN #16days
Every time a woman speaks up about her experience of sexual violence and she’s not believed, the cycle of abuse continues.
Every time you hear a survivor’s story:
1-Listen.
2-Believe.
3-Support.

We’re focused on safety & support but we’re also getting in to the Christmas spirit at our sheltered housing schemes a bit earlier than usual this year!
