Their President (a good friend and colleague of @MaritStiles) tells members to be quiet and make a donation to absolve their guilt over Palestine.

You can't fix a Party when people like this are leading the way.

The more I think on this, the more it pisses me off.

Not only do the NDP fail on delivering socialist solutions but they are playing into the Right’s narrative of Socialism being nothing but handouts.

This kind of messaging is setting us back.

The thread is a great reminder of just what Lucy Watson thought of Riding Association volunteers.

So, we spoke to the party’s paid organizer, and asked what was up. The reply? “There was no action necessary from the Riding Association.” Necessary! Like we’re Borg drones, to be activated only when needed. That’s how the @ontariondp really views grassroots organizing. 6/?

I’ll add that the outgoing Watson was THE person behind the anti-democratic nomination processes that helped sink the Party in the last election.

Any growth belongs to grassroots efforts.

After endless calls for her to resign, Ontario NDP Provincial Director Lucy Watson finally steps down.

We object to this statement’s characterization of strengthened riding associations under her reign.

Under Watson’s control we’ve documented countless EDA Executive resignations, harrassment complaints and you’ve all witnessed the failed campaigns she designed.

Yet she’s allowed to leave on her own terms, with praise.

Signaling to all - that nothing will change.
