@wbarlowrobles@yalepress We are so proud of and impressed by all of our 2024 award contributors, and are honored to recognize such a worthy slate of recipients. Congratulations to all of our awardees!
On Saturday, we announced the recipients of our three 2024 awards! 🏆👏🎉
The submissions crossed time periods, hemispheres, and concepts, and showcased the strength, breadth, and style of American Studies scholarship. We're excited to share the winners with you today! 🧵
@wbarlowrobles@yalepress The committee truly believes that both Murphy and Robles's projects, in which they utilize an American Studies training alongside that of biology or engineering, blow the current field wide open. They serve as great models of the possibilities of interdisciplinary work!
@HistLit Doane-Ngyuen's paper highlighted how American newspapers reported on the Philippine-American War of 1899-1902 and how this reportage shaped American views of empire, the Philippines, and Filipino people. Congrats, Ryan Doane-Ngyuen!
And that’s a wrap on the first day of our #RevisitingRegion conference. Thanks again to @RezekJoe and all our presenters for such a wonderful series of conversations! Looking forward to more tomorrow!
