If you find yourself at the school this summer holidays keep your eyes peeled, you may be lucky enough to see one of our peahens with a peachick in toe, how sweet is this little one!
What wonderful weather we are having π.
The animals have been sunbathing and keeping cool by enjoying some chilled watermelon. A slice was hung up for the chickens to keep them entertained.
One of our student farm volunteers took some time out during his lunchbreak to have a go at photographing some of our animals, not so easy when they don't like to stay still for long.
Well done Harrison the photos are excellent !
This year's theme for #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek is Nature and our Reception pupils proved that you can still have fun in nature, even when it's a bit wet! The pupils fed and learned about the pigs at the Farm, supporting their English work around the story, The Pig in the Pondπ·
What a fantastic success the quail hatching was! Over two days we had a total of 19 chicks hatch, some of the reception children were even lucky enough to watch them hatch out if the egg. These tiny little balls of fluff are adorable.
Yesterday some Year 7 students had a lot of fun caring for the animals at Farm Club. They also enjoyed saying hello to our new Falabella Horse, Bella! π΄
The school is full of such beautiful wildlife, both plants and animals. Last week a young muntjac was seen grazing on the the plants along the water walk.
Miss Clarke's favourite part of snow days is investigating all the footprints that have been left around the farm and school. It's fascinating to see what animals are about and where they have been. Can you identify which animals made these footprints?
The Year 10 students who are in the library had a brilliant hands on session today with @NewHallAnimals . Miss Clarke, showed us how bunnies (Martha and Isaac) like to to be held and then of course they were given bunny biscuits! π
The school pond is looking rather impressive today, it's completely frozen over with a layer of snow on top. The mallards however seem a little confused π¦.
The animals are unimpressed with this recent snow and cold weather, but we've been working hard to keep them warm and happy with lots of cosy bedding, an inventive way to keep the snow out the ferret house, warm porridge for the chickens and the pigs enjoyed warm orange juice
