We seek to build a movement for a #NewIreland
A New Ireland that encompasses all the traditions on our island.
Our approach: to have inclusive conversations about the kind of society we can create together.
Our young people demonstrated how we can do this 👇🙌
Go raibh míle maith agaibh Uachtarán na hÉireann Michael D. Higgins agus Sabina Higgins. 14 years of courage, compassion and moral authority on behalf of the people of Ireland. Tá bród orainn.
Our mission is to build a new Ireland by winning a referendum. That means we need to understand the needs, hopes, concerns and fears of everyone but particularly people in the middle who are open to change.
@ColumEastwood speaking to @dmcbfs at this year’s @FeileBelfast.
“Neutrality is a cornerstone of the Republic and it should remain so. Ireland should focus relentlessly on that moral position that we have on the issues that are destabilising the world.” - @columeastwood at @FeileBelfast.
“Reform are gaining lots of ground. It says something about the state of the British State that is irreparable. In contrast, we’ve an alternative, an option out of that.” - @columeastwood at @FeileBelfast
“In the North that bit in the middle who are either unsure or curious about it - we need to know who they are, what they care about, and then speak to them relentlessly to work to convince them.” - @columeastwood at @FeileBelfast.
“It’s a very good idea to put the political parties, and the trade unions, the business organisations, and the community organisations into a room to discuss a new Ireland.” - @columeastwood at @FeileBelfast
“People have been asked to wait long enough and they’ve been told not yet too many times. Presidential voting rights shouldn’t be an issue at all. Why can’t we talk about reconciliation in a political context that makes people’s lives better?” - @columeastwood at @FeileBelfast
‘People are now looking for what’s next. There’s a whole generation of people who are looking for something different. People are saying why do we have to be stuck here in a constitutional context that doesn’t work for people?’ - @columeastwood at @FeileBelfast.
‘In my view the UK is disintegrating before our very eyes. I don’t think there’s any form of government now in London that could stop the momentum towards constitutional change in Ireland.’- @columeastwood at @FeileBelfast
Join us this Wednesday for a @FeileBelfast discussion with @columeastwood and @dmcbfs on a New Ireland’s place in the world at @StMarys_Belfast.

More people recognise that what we have right now isn’t as good as it gets and that constitutional change could deliver better. We’re exploring the issues that matter to them and the kind of new society they want to be a part of. We’re optimistic about the prospectus for change.
This is really positive and heartening for us.
Before a campaign for unity has really even begun, there’s consistent levels of support for a new Ireland and a growing group of persuadables - especially younger people who are hungry for change.
