The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa, issued for a three year term.

No one should have bought a home on this visa and their employer’s hiring decision should never have obligated us to educate their children.

Whether or not someone has dual intent, is not relevant. The government issued a non-immigrant visa, the only guarantee provided is permission to travel to the United States and request admission. If this has been allowed, the government held up their end of the deal.

Any decisions they make after this are fair game - and most certainly humane.

@bobby_halstead @JoshuaLisec @MajorityHaitian It can take months to get a valid travel document for an illegal prior to deportation. It costs a lot more money to house and baby them in jail than it does to monitor them by GPS while travel documents are in processing. It's not sexy but it's DOGE cost cutting in action.

ICE and CBP recently conducted a worksite raid at a solar farm in the GLOW region of New York, reportedly for the first time.

Multiple workers were arrested and processed for removal thanks to a tip submitted to the ICE tipline.

@marygrace @JackPosobiec I do agree the "default" radius is very forgiving. But case officers can tighten that radius and articulate this restriction based on flight risk. The beauty of administrative removal proceedings is that every illegal alien, by definition, is a flight risk.

@marygrace @JackPosobiec Many of the cases put on GPS monitoring end up buying their own ticket home because they're effectively on house arrest and start to go crazy from it. I wasn't originally a fan of the GPS program but it saves precious dollars for high risk removals (MS-13, etc).

@marygrace @JackPosobiec He likely doesn't have a valid Haitian passport. It costs about $1,000 a day to keep these people detained. No one can be deported without a valid passport. Depending on the country it can take 1-2 months to get an emergency travel doc issued by the consulate. GPS is cheaper.

@Beansiesdaddy @CTechworkers This could be a powerful tool for crushing chain-migration at the source. Plenty of naturalized foreigners will sponsor their illegal cousins, friends, etc and give them jobs at their businesses. Indian-owned liquor stores and gas stations are notorious for this!

UPDATE: Illegal alien who was driving drunk and kiIIed a Connecticut cop and his girlfriend, just had her bond REDUCED by Democrat-appointed judge Judge Seán McGuinnes.

The reason? “She has deep ties to the community.”

ICE has begun arresting foreigners for expired visas, including tech workers, many at airports in recent weeks.

Under previous admins, visa overstays were not a target. Under the Trump admin, the DHS says a past or pending application will no longer save you from deportation.
