I light a candle today for Chow Hang-tung (鄒幸彤) as her national security trial begins, and on her fifth birthday in prison.
She is imprisoned for remembrance — for honouring the victims of the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.
I stand with Chow Hang-tung.
UK policing is in crisis & only the Lib Dems have a plan to save it.
We're calling for police front counters to be opened in communities across the country, & will fund this by doing away with the Tory folly of police crime commissioners.
A big Thank You to Cllr @mrkdurrant of @RBKingston for donating £500 of his Ward Funding towards our Nets Project at MWCC. Hugely appreciated and will make a big difference to the club and the local community
Did you know cyclists are up to 83% less likely to have their bike targeted and stolen if it is visibly @bikeregister marked? @MPSNorbiton will be doing free bike marking outside Norbiton Station from 1-2pm this Friday 16 May.
Brexit is a failure and was a deeply unpatriotic act of self-harm, shattering Churchill’s vision of a UK at the heart of Europe.
Whilst we will eventually rejoin the EU, we can only do so by bringing the country - not just a wafer-thin majority - with us.
The Lib Dems have a clear roadmap: first rejoining EU agencies & programmes; next negotiating a Customs Union; before then entering the Single Market as a prelude to negotiating to rejoin from a position of strength.
We are seeking to appoint a team of Lettings Assistants to join our existing staff to assist with evening and weekend lettings that take place in our main school and sports department. Full details are available on the school website...

Not all heroes wear capes - but our one definitely carries tools! A massive thank you to Rob for making a decidedly lucky 13 bikes roadworthy again at the @rbkares Wellbeing Day in Norbiton yesterday. 💪🦸♂️🙏

Government figures prove those on skilled workers’ visas make a £16,300 net contribution to UK tax revenues.
I asked the Home Secretary how the Government can achieve its aim of growing the economy when it’s also trying to cut legal immigration.
Are you convinced by her answer?
The Chancellor’s decision to raise bus fare cap by 50% will hit the most vulnerable in society.
Worryingly the Department for Transport still hasn’t published the value for money analysis of the policy, due in early 2024 - so I’ve now written to @LouHaigh demanding she does so.
“A Budget that damages the finances of families and businesses whilst stifling growth is not doing what it says on the tin, but rather kicking that very can down the road…”

“The British prime minister described “growing the economy” as the “number one mission” of the UK-EU reboot”
“However, he also reiterated his red lines on Brexit”
“Within the bounds of these strictures, EU diplomats said there was little scope”
