Year 6 have finished reading Letters From The Lighthouse, so we are excited to hear (author) Emma Carroll talk to us about her new book-The Little Match Girl Strikes Back-with our fabulous local book shop @read_holmfirth. #LettersFromTheLighthouse#TheLittleMatchGirlStrikesBack
Today at Forest School we made orange cake; baked in a dutch oven over an open fire. We scooped out oranges and placed cake mixture in the centre. We rounded off our culinary session, sampling obligatory S’mores…delicious! #NMJSForestSchool#LearningOutdoors#HealthAndWellbeing
It was an incredibly busy day with the Little Legends Forest School Holiday Club today: climbing on the slackline; building awesome dens, making carrot whistles & toasting marshmallows on the campfire to make delicious S’mores. Thankyou to everyone for a fun day! #OutsideAllDay
We are delighted to receive Year 10 pupils from Holmfirth High School who are demonstrating a variety of science projects to our Year 5 & Year 6 pupils.
A big thank you to both staff & pupils from @holmfirthhigh for organising such an exciting science fair. #NMJSScience#Science
A big thank you to Dr Hazel Girvan, Senior Lecturer in cell Biology/Biochemistry from the Department of Biological & Geographical Sciences @HuddersfieldUni. Year 6 pupils have now learned how to extract DNA from a strawberry. #NMJSSCIENCE#CoolScience#Stem
We have taken moulds of tyre tracks and have learned how to lift fingerprints from a crime scene. We are close to solving the mystery of the missing laptop and attendance trophy. #NMJSScience@ThinkForensic
To help preserve the evidence, we have donned our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are ready to investigate the crime scene. #NMJSScience@ThinkForensic
Unfortunately, some nefarious activities have occurred in the Year 6 classrooms. We have preserved and cordoned off the crime scene. Fortunately, we have @ThinkForensic to help us solve the mystery. #WhoDunnit#NMJSScience
