Icymi: I lost my computer and hard drive with everything I’ve ever composed in it late last night. It also happens to be my 30th birthday. I had a goal to complete an orchestral piece before I turned 30 and the almost finished score was on that laptop. Pretty gutted right now

I met George Crumb about 18 yrs ago. I managed to keep myself together and not become a complete fanboy. I mustered the courage to ask if I could send him some of my scores. He was kind and gracious Saying he “didn’t do that anymore”. He told me no but made me feel ok about it.
