The Smashing Pumpkins have announced the Rats in a Cage tour!

The Smashing Pumpkins will bring the tour to a stop at the Kohl Center in Madison, WI on October 11th celebrating the recent 30th anniversary of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

Billy Corgan has detailed that each show will feature “two unique sets" per show as well as other “unruly hits and dark treasures.”

Presales begin tomorrow, May 19th, and run through Wednesday. Public sale is Thursday the 21st at 10am via Ticketmaster.

Station Spring clean-up! As we continue to make changes (logo change, return of Dave Justus), we also need to do a little clean-up to our programming. When we brought back New Rock 102 One we wanted to encompass the entirety of alternative rock over the entire decade of 1990 - with a focus on songs that aired nationwide on alternative radio stations before New Rock was a thing on WLUM in 1994. With a library of over 1,400 tunes, continuing to have that amount of variety on a weekly rotation wasn't always going to be sustainable.

That is why we crafted the Radio Ghosts program on Sunday afternoons. We initially moved more than 360 of those early 90's tunes from the weekly rotation onto Radio Ghosts. This allowed us to play more of the songs you're familiar with, and hear more variety from bands you love like Nirvana, STP and Soundgarden, along with hearing more favorite one-hit wonders like "Bitch" and "...Broken Phone Booth..." more often. Now, it's time to do it again!

Another 150+ songs from artists like The Smithereens, Tears for Fears, Kate Bush, and Faith No More have received the weekly rotation death axe. They will be gradually introduced into Radio Ghosts over the coming weeks, which means Radio Ghosts will be expanding each Sunday from a 5+ hour block to 7+ hours of some of the best 90's deep cut alternative and modern rock music you'll hear anywhere! It really is the best way to discover classic rock music for the first time!

We believe that this fine tuning and continous crafting of the station will bring more of the music you loved back then back to your ear holes.
