The World Premiere of Carly Stone’s (@ceestones) NORTH OF NORMAL, an adaptation of @CeaPerson’s memoir, details the author’s counterculture youth in the wilds of 1970s Western Canada. Starring @SarahGadon and @robertcarlyle_. #TIFF22 https://t.co/tDsHxnSnyW
Today's hot take:
* I wish filmmakers would stop shitting on other filmmakers while promoting their films.
* I wish journalists would stop asking leading questions hoping to prompt filmmakers shitting on other filmmakers.
* I wish people would stop amplifying it when they do.
Make smaller movies to start. Grow slow. Learn how YOU speak the language of film. Don’t be distracted by other people’s ages or timelines. Comparison is the thief of joy. Make impressive little films that will inspire comparison in others. Never quit.
Hayley Law, Keith Powers and Famke Janssen to star in Avan Jogia’s directorial debut #DoorMouse.
The neo-noir thriller centers on Mouse (Law). When a friend from work goes missing, Mouse and her sidekick Ugly (Powers) take it upon themselves to find out what happened to her.

This is an obvious fact that needs to be remembered.
Allowing Black communities to tell their own stories is part of the vital work of combating systemic racism. This is why we welcome the creation of a Black Screen Office for the black filmmaking community:
Door Mouse is a film I've written and am directing about the abuses of power, the corrosion of morality and a heroine who decides to stand up for herself and her community.
It's also about Coffee and Dread.
So this is a very cool thing for me, Having my film funded by @Telefilm_Canada and getting the chance to make bright, electric, punk rock, films in my home country is a dream. More and more to come.
