It breaks my heart every day that goes by where Jim isn't absolutely bombarded by paparazzi because of how famous he is. There should be a fuckin army of photographers waiting outside Jim's location 24/7 waiting to make a pay check off a photo of Jim.
CBC, this morning, platformed a dairy farmer as if he were just another ordinary small business owner facing “uncertainty” and “psychological impacts” from U.S. tariffs—right alongside a sole-proprietor wig maker
What they carefully omitted: he is a member of Canada’s government-protected dairy supply-management cartel. The system that sets production quotas, fixes prices, and restricts competition so Canadian consumers pay some of the highest milk and dairy prices in the developed world
A few choice lines from the interview:
“our industry is designed that the amount of dairy products that are made in the province is equal to the demand. So we’re not reliant on finding export markets…”
“we can’t be a dumping ground for excess production all over the world.”
“I feel that the government understands that we have an envious system that deserves to be protected.”
“I don’t think you strengthen the economy by tearing down one of the stronger pillars in that economy.”
Translation: the cartel works great—for the cartel. Production is deliberately capped, imports are tightly controlled, and prices stay artificially high because competition is suppressed by law. American farmers (and Canadian consumers) are the ones shut out
CBC presented this as neutral “business owner” commentary on trade friction. They never mentioned quotas, price-setting boards, or the fact that this is a state-enforced monopoly, not a free-market dairy farm. Classic CBC sin of omission
Food sovereignty rhetoric sounds noble until you notice who actually holds the quotas and collects the rents @brodiefenlon
Liberals:
* strip Sir John A off our money
* change anthem lyrics
* tear down statues
* say Canada committed genocide
* give citizenship away to anyone
* defund the military
* join China's New World Order
* destroy the oil industry
Globe: Conservatives have a patriotism problem
Never forget that CBC used a manniquin and pretended it was a covid patient during covid and then called it an error in judgement. These are the people who will be monitoring misinformation on the internet.
Ive been searching for the meaning of #ElbowsUp but not the "technical" meaning because we all know the technical meaning of things with Mark Carney doesnt matter. (i.e. recession) This video sums up the reality of the #ElbowsUp movement. Alot of talk and the only action negative
ITS CHEAPER TO BUY CANADIAN CLUB IN THE US, THAN IN CANADA
It’s the SAME bottle.
The SAME product.
It’s the SAME country of origin: CANADA
In the States: $18.99 USD (~$26.75 CAD)
At the LCBO: $67.95 CAD
CANADIANS PAY 2.5X WHAT AMERICANS PAY FOR WHISKY MADE IN CANADA. 😭
Ford banned American alcohol to “punish” US producers, but he didn’t lower the price of the Canadian whisky he sells to us.
He kept the ridiculous markup, then triggered a 50% tariff on Canadian goods in the process.
Because of Doug Ford, Canadian exporters will now pay a 50% tariff.
But Ontario consumers still get to pay the markup.
It’s a shakedown.
Ah yes. The former Brookfield chair.
The man with $6.8M in Brookfield options expiring in 2033.
The man whose fiscal plan has a 1% chance of working per his own Budget Officer.
The man who is 91% invested in America while governing Canada.
The man who skips Parliament but never misses Davos.
Currently:
Running a $78B deficit. Largest outside a pandemic.
Bailing out condo developers with your money.
Funding Brazil’s climate while Ontario burns.
Giving Germany a $100B submarine contract.
Handing bridge revenue to America on Canada Day eve.
But sure. Affordability has never been better.

Any other canadians not trust @CBC 2 be the federal fact checker? Or do we need another pandemic of total bullshit lies before people realize this country is going full 1984 orwellian. Taxpayers pay the otherwise defunct company to shill out propaganda for the liberals #DefundCBC
@ManuelSchn68284@MarcNixon24 20 year aged whiskey but after 21 years i guess thats too much, isnt that how wine works too? Oh well better totally dump this expired wine "down the drain" because "its expired now" from "sitting on the shelf too long" take that america you see all this inventory we're dumping?
@junonewscom I truly believe that if it was just Eby and Trump in a high school hallway, that Eby would end up locked in a locker and here he gives this bullshit speech about not being bullied its not even laughable anymore its sad.
@AndrewScheer Im starting to think Carney could actually be a master of economics, its just that he's choosing to tank the economy instead of build it up because it doesnt seem likely that he could fail this brutally by accident
Make it make sense.
Canadians are told we can’t carry pepper spray or a knife for self-defense.
But walk into a GoodLife gym with a large dagger hanging off your hip, work out shirtless against the rules, and film in the change room… and the gym will FIRE the employee who tried to protect the other members.
Because his identity apparently overrides basic safety and common sense.
This is the two-tier clown world we’re living in.
Regular Canadians get disarmed and told to trust the system.
Certain groups get special religious exemptions to carry weapons in public spaces while everyone else has to shut up and accept it.
The employee who spoke up for safety got punished.
The guy with the dagger got accommodated.
This isn’t equality. It’s insanity dressed up as “inclusion.”
Equal rules. Equal standards. No special privileges based on identity.
Assimilate or don’t come.
Canada used to make sense.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. The Elbows Up irritants. ⤵️
Liberals knew they couldn't win a trade war with the 🇺🇸. Crowing they would "stand up to Trump" played well with the gullible. It won them power. Now 🇨🇦 will pay the price. Sad thing is Liberal enablers will excuse this failure & tank our economy rather than admit they were duped.
Child sexual predators. Human traffickers. Gun criminals. The Liberals’ Bill C-16 makes nearly all mandatory minimum sentences optional.
Instead of defending Parliament’s decision that certain crimes deserve a minimum punishment, the Liberals created a legal escape hatch allowing judges to sentence below those minimums.
“Instead of striking down mandatory minimums, courts will increasingly bypass them. The constitutional debate has not been resolved. It has merely changed form.”
Mandatory should mean mandatory.
A convicted sex offender was exempted from Canada’s national sex offender registry because the judge was concerned about the offender facing deportation.
Let that sink in.
The registry exists to protect Canadians, not shield convicted offenders from immigration consequences. Public safety must always come before the interests of criminals.
Enough leniency. Canada needs strong laws that put public safety first, ensure convicted sex offenders face the full consequences of their crimes, and remove serious foreign criminals from this country after they’ve served their sentences.
Prime Minister,
Canadians are not stupid.
Stop speaking in riddles. Stop contradicting yourself in the same breath. Just own up that you signed a deal to hand over half the profits on a bridge, that was 100% built with Canadian tax dollars, before getting repaid.
Release the deal. And let taxpayers judge.
@liberal_party But lets have a 5th hearing on whether or not someone without a visa who killed somone while illegally driving can stay in canada. This country was built upon the words "I may not agree with the words you say, but i will defend to the death your right to say them" you're a coward
