@NewTradeCo@TheaMeiLee@TimsDesiree@IUE_CWAUnion@MelindaPubCit@rosadelauro Amb. Tai:
Just like the magical thinking that prosperity is going to trickle down to everyday people, there is the notion that by just applying lots of tariffs, manufacturing's going to magically reappear in America.
Tariffs have to be consistent, targeted, and strategic.
@NewTradeCo@TheaMeiLee@TimsDesiree@IUE_CWAUnion@MelindaPubCit Amb Tai said the reason US trade policy has looked the way it has for a generation is simple:
Because the people doing the trade policy had never left Washington.
And the only people who knew where to find those policymakers were the people who work for the biggest companies.
Trade, regional cooperation, and the future of North America matter now more than ever.
