The Western Tragopan is a pheasant found along the range of Himalayas in northern ๐ต๐ฐ & ๐ฎ๐ณ. Species is highly endangered and globally threatened. Considered as one of the rarest living pheasants.

Incredible news from the birding world. Pakistan used to have one such bird, the Long-billed Bush-Warbler. Thankfully, it was rediscovered in recent times and I was lucky enough to see it twice in last two years.

until it doesn't. Tried it recently and i couldn't finish a page due to unnecessary attention of passerbys. Should've enjoyed the river view without holding a book.
@AlastorMoopy I interviewed the locals & they shared that people used to believe there are fairies in the forest near some lake in this region, due to these eerie calls. Now that they know the bird, that myth has lost its essence.
