Security forces burst into Alireza Sepahi's home in Isfahan after the January protests, and his former cellmate says one officer held him down while another said "Hold him. I want to shoot him."

They shot him four times in the legs, inside his own room. The cellmate told Iran International that for about 26 days afterward, interrogators beat his face and hit the bullet wounds with a hose until they bled again, and at times brought his mother into the next room so she could hear it or watch. He screamed "I will sign whatever you tell me to." In court he said, "What escape? They shot me inside my own room." He is one of 12 people sentenced to death in one closed hearing. His cousin Abolfazl was hanged in public in that same square on 28 July, and his mother is serving five years in prison.

Now his case is at the sentence enforcement office, the office that carries out executions.

They shot him, tortured him in front of his mother, and now they want to hang him, and the world is quiet. Enough. Say his name, Alireza Sepahi, before it's too late.

One student:

Another:

A third labelled her a fascist and demanded they “bring back the guillotine.”

When asked about the irony of wanting to execute political enemies while claiming to oppose fascism, he admitted:

“Yeah, definitely. That is definitely ironic, Possibly” that would make him a fascist.

They encouraged students skipping school.

One allegedly said:
