Founded 1899, the Newman Club of Los Angeles is a private, Catholic, devotional, and educational organisation named for Saint John Henry Cardinal Newman.
The @NewmanClubLA was proud to once again participate in the annual @QueenofAngelsLA Mass & Procession in #DTLA. Read the @latimes coverage of this beautiful and important event. https://t.co/htze9WQgUn
Kevin Nader, an RN councillor in Ivry-sur-Seine, France, raised a crucifix and prayed the Hail Mary during a municipal council meeting after the communist mayor refused to ban the Islamic veil in the council chamber
@BarbOfOhio@BishopBarron@bobdylan What an absurd statement. Would you have spouted the same drivel to St Paul, who became rather “famous” due to his church planting and epistles? Would you have been so glibly dismissive of soon-to-be Blessed Fulton Sheen, who was quite “famous” because of his TV evangelism?
Pope Benedict XVI was fluent in 8–10 languages. He wrote 66 books, 3 encyclicals, and 4 apostolic exhortations. He even played the piano.
Yet above all these accomplishments, he will be remembered throughout posterity for his holiness and humility.
Starting from this coming Sunday (3rd May) Mass will be offered in the Ordinariate Use at 5pm at Holy Rood, Market Rasen.
(This is in addition to our other Sunday Masses).
@fionawoods46 Let me fix that for you: Catholicism teaches equality but also notes the intended differences between sexes that mean we bring different gifts. A mother is not a father and vice versa. Equality of value but difference of calling - as discernible in the natural law.
Dame Mullaly should have been invited to tea at the Vatican with nice cake.
It was wrong to allow her to offer faux blessings in St Peter’s
Modernists rejoice but confusion arises and it scandalises the faithful.
No sex before marriage
No blessings before unity is embraced
Today, Mrs. Sarah Mullally - who thinks she is the Archbishop of Canterbury - pretended to give a blessing in the Clementine Chapel, in the crypt of the Vatican Basilica. It is the chapel closest to the tomb of Saint Peter.
As if that were not bad enough, there is a Catholic Bishop there pretending to receive the “blessing”. Saint Thomas More, pray for us.
@RealSpitfire No, if you are a Catholic, he’s your Pope. Feel free to disagree with statements that don’t touch the perennial teaching of the Church, feel free to dislike his words, but he’s the man who succeeded Peter, and is the Vicar of Christ. You reject him, you reject the Church.
Fun fact: In 1976, Cardinal Karol Wojtyła visited Stevens Point, Wisconsin, USA, where he gave a fascinating lecture in English at the University of Wisconsin on Catholic education in Poland. Just two years later, he became Pope John Paul II.
Here's rare footage of the entire lecture:
A rare recording of Pope Pius XII’s voice as he sings the preface of the Easter Mass.
V. Dóminus vobíscum.
R. Et cum spíritu tuo.
V. Sursum corda.
An Assyrian boy in Iraq singing a rare Aramaic hymn called “O’ Gannana”.
It translates to “O Gardener”, recounting the story of Mary Magdalene encountering the empty tomb.
She thought He was the Gardener, before realizing He Lives.
We must rescue this dying language.
@calvinrobinson Absolutely disgusting amount of republican vitriol in these comments. This is a false and misleading post. Some simple minds will believe nearly anything. Do better, Calvin. And God Save The King!
The Devil wants you to believe that young people don’t care about Catholicism.
But this is St. Peter’s Square, Rome.
Gen Z isn’t leaving the Church.
We are resurrecting it.
Beautiful rendition of Amina Christi, worthy of the worship of Almighty God, at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass celebrated by Pope Leo XIV in Monaco. The Pope himself can be seen singing the refrain.
A big vote of confidence in the Ordinariate from Rome. Now let’s see the English bishops give it the support it deserves – for example by handing over some church buildings.
With Pachamama back in the news, I'm sure the gaslighters will come back in force.
Don't believe them: Pachamama is not the Virgin Mary; it's a pagan goddess.
