Yes but not in the shapes that they take today. It was the Persian and Arabians mathematians that brought them to the west in the 9th century, where it was refined. Europeans got the system from the Muslims in the 13th century but was not wide spread unti the 15th century with the invention of the printing press. So while the Hindus get credit for the start of the current system, it is the muslims that refined it.
