We're the largest union of journalists, media workers and activists in North America. We've been holding power to account and defending democracy since 1933.
We are excited for this historic institution to survive!
A lot is still unsettled and we will continue to support our members who are fighting to be paid back from the Block’s illegal behavior.
That liability does not go away with the sale of the paper.
Bad-faith bargaining is bad for business. After we went on strike, a major advertiser halted ad buys in solidarity. We are asking others to do the same until McClatchy Media comes to the table with a fair offer.
That's right! Post management has refused to provide data that would allow us to do regular and accurate pay equity analyses. Journalists believe in the ethical requirement to minimize harm. So, we're holding power to account to minimize harm.
JUST IN: @newsguild sues WaPo as part of what appears to be a bid to try to get employee salary data with names (which the union has argued it needs to look at racial disparities). Doc: https://t.co/GH6jfe9uXy
Star Tribune Guild members wore our union merch to work today after management's announcement of 15% layoffs across the company, including within the newsroom.
Today, our members distributed fliers outside the Forbes Iconoclast summit to let management know we deserve a fair contract.
Four years into bargaining, Forbes is still proposing wages that do not keep up with inflation.
Solidarity,
Forbes Union
Last week we lost Carol Rothman, former chairperson, secretary-treasurer, vice president and pension trustee.
“She was fierce and witty and fun, and a damn good ad sales person as well as an indefatigable union leader.”

WE WON: Our @CondéNast members who were illegally fired and disciplined after taking part in a “march on the boss” in November have been reinstated as part of a more than $400,000 settlement. More details here ... https://t.co/mPONRGVzXZ
.@seattletimes management has offered the union some protections around the use of AI — but only to reporters.
Management still insists it needs the right to replace other @SeaTimesUnion workers with AI.
Some personal news, as they say:
I’m so stoked for the rest of the Fired Four getting this deal. Conde is giving them nearly two years of backpay.
They offered me 4 months. In the absence of a serious offer, I’m looking forward to my day in court.

VINDICATED: @CondéNast is paying the price for its illegal attempts at busting our union. Our members won a settlement that vindicates those who “marched on the boss” in November 2025.

Hey everyone, the Fort Worth Reporters Guild here with a major update about our union efforts.
On June 1, our members will sit down at the table with the Report’s management for our first official bargaining session. Here’s what that will look like.
Money spent directly on union busting, is wages stolen from workers:
