There’s several reasons why Illumination gets hated. Their writing style and their visions with the movie directions isn’t helping despite their animation and visuals only being carried.
Let’s not forget how the Mario Galaxy Movie turned out because of this.
This guy is hated too much. He's a great guy. He respects integrity, hates AI, his studio treats their animators and employees nicely. He's honestly just chill af.
@ToonHive Some of this is true, but this is just another levels of ruining actors’ careers saying that this is the actors’ fault for playing these characters and making them get into unnecessary controversies when they literally didn’t do anything wrong.

@WaflesA@anson323@mariotwtconfess At the same time, I feel you too. I already have low expectations given how this movie turned out. This is the typical illumination regime.
Why do I feel that future movies are gonna get repetitive…
I agree on some of this, but to those people in this platform that have been hating on Chris Pratt’s Mario and Seth Rogen’s Donkey Kong, like BRO, it isn’t their fault. They literally made ZERO controversies. Y’all are just trying to RUIN THEIR CARRIERS JUST LIKE JOHNNY DEPP…
Matthew Lillard criticized the industry for prioritizing celebrities over voice actors in animation:
“The ability to carry a film, as the lead of a film with only a voice, is a power very few people have. The idea that they keep hiring crappy celebrities to carry huge films is killing us.”
Also, they didn’t became in the same state as Ezra Miller, Amber Heard, or Rachel Zegler as being one of the WORST or CONTROVERSIAL ACTORS…
If that’s your problem with them, blame whoever was in charge of the casting decisions.

@Darkmarerize DC animated movies/DVD were basically home video level and not mainstream level. Video games are on par as normal tv shows.
There’s a difference by going to the big leagues.
