Mamdani announces $122 million to hire 1,000 more teachers in 2027. This must be why they say socialism is so horrible. Tax dollars go to the schools instead of endless foreign wars.
Buying rent stabilized property with the goal of lobbying the government to jack up working people’s rent is such scumbag behavior. Guy is already worth $100 billion but he wanted to put families out on the street to grab a few more crumbs. Sociopathic economic system
I've been hurt by Sunderland players leaving before...
Darren Bent to Aston Villa, Patrick Van Aanholt to Crystal Palace, Stéphane Sessègnon to West Brom, even Josh Maja to Bordeaux...
I could always handle players like Henderson, Mignolet, Jobe taking huge, deserved leaps, Pickford the same after we were relegated... but I've never liked players making sideways steps.
Nothing though, will be able to prepare me for seeing Granit Xhaka in a Chelsea shirt... I can't begin to fathom it.
Chelsea are a bigger club, with a better chance of silverware over the next few seasons... but they've finished 10th or below twice in the last 4 years, finished 3 places below Sunderland in 25/26, losing to us home and away, and feel like a long way off their peak.
Xhaka would throw away EVERYTHING he's said about Sunderland, the fans, the community... to move back to London, work with a manager he's already worked with and represent one of Arsenal's biggest rivals?
I'm always reluctant to use words like betrayal... football is a business, players have to make decisions that they think is best for them...
But for me it would be one of the most soulless moves of the summer.
If you watch Martinelli for Brazil, you will realise he’s so much better because he’s not facing low blocks every match. Four seasons ago, when he was on fire at Arsenal, it was because teams didn’t play like that against us. It’s why he’s been so good in the Champions League. Teams leave space, which is where he can thrive.
We need a winger who can receive the ball in tight spaces and create his own chances. He can open up low blocks. But, finding that kind of player is easier said than done.
If Martinelli went to the Bundesliga for example, he would get insane numbers. Easily double digits for goals and assists. If we are going to sell him, then we have to be looking upward of £70m in today’s market. He’s better than a lot of wingers available, he’s a Premier League winner. I just don’t think he fits the system because of how others set up against us.
I’m not going to stop going on about the fact that Arsenal’s success at corners is built on having two of the best corner takers in the game and they both play for England so you’re going to see it in this tournament and you’re going to be forced to accept it 👍
I’m constantly astonished that billionaires would rather ignore the climate crisis and prepare to live in a bunker with dvds and baked beans than devote a modicum of their bottomless wealth to saving the planet where we have fresh fruit and soft grass and blue skies.
This is why they want you to forget about the Epstein files. There are dozens of girls just like her who were taken and sold into human trafficking. They’re probably not even alive anymore. What happened to these girls is beyond comprehension, and the people responsible are getting away with it.
Nobody wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants AI in every app. Nobody wants a robot butler. Nobody wants data centers everywhere. Nobody wants flying cars or humanoid robots. We want clean water, we want bees to survive, and we want a habitable planet.
