@Clrindrx@crimson_lux Why would a sane person using the internet make a food recommendation of a plant they know is poisonous specifically to an audience of people who would not know the plant is poisonous?
@homerepaired@TheJZackT@PAOZZsmr They /technically/ condition the air, just not with the refrigeration cycle. And yes, they are only effective in arid climates, but that doesn't stop companies from deceptive marketing. In humid climates they will make the air feel worse.
@Clrindrx@crimson_lux Why would you give a baby a gun? Idk why would you tell people to eat a poisonous root?
People should definitely search first, I agree with you there.
@BbGrlee@TheJZackT@PAOZZsmr I mean technically by changing the humidity, swamp coolers do condition the air. But it's mostly deceptive marketing that companies use to sell swamp coolers as portable ACs.
@MikeUntitled@TheJZackT@PAOZZsmr They thought the AC in the image was a swamp cooler, which is a humidifier. They didn't see the hose going out the window.
@Clrindrx@crimson_lux If I wanted to try it I personally would have looked into it and would have learned it was toxic, but I also don't assume everyone is trying to trick me into poisoning myself. Thankfully there is now a disclaimer so no one will get hurt by trusting them :)
@Clrindrx@crimson_lux Sure, the people who understand the context of Filipinos being mad at the ube ice cream situation might realize this probably isn't an actual recommendation, but I'm sure there are many people who aren't terminally online that might see the post and not have that context.
