To Those Calling Joe Biden "Sleepy Joe" for taking 14 days before he spent time on the ground in Maui, Hawaii, you likely don't understand what it's like to be in a disaster area when a President comes to town.
Last year I lived through Hurricane Ian, a Category 4 storm here in Fort Myers. While our family was very fortunate, the area was devastated, especially Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel.
President Biden arrived with Ron DeSantis 7 days after the storm. While it was nice for the area to get the attention it deserved, most locals were aggravated because we were still trying to move supplies around the area, move debris and boats off of the roads, and assess the destruction. We still didn't have power and most traffic lights were not working. When Biden arrived, traffic in a large portion of the city slowed to a crawl for several hours. People who were trying to get limited supplies and those conducting recovery efforts were slowed to a standstill.
Stop blaming Biden for waiting 2 weeks to goto Maui unless you understand what it's like to live through a disaster and have a President come to town.
