WoW @elonmusk
They are having a meeting for Starlink service I think.
Hope to hear a good news soon.
***Can't understand mr.modi speech so did not watch to listen****
Addressing the India Mobile Congress. It is encouraging to see India's telecom sector steadily moving towards greater self-reliance. https://t.co/tIuohkURIE
🛰️ Starlink India : Rumours vs Reality 🇮🇳
🔒 Rumour: National security concerns may delay Starlink.
Reality: Starlink says Indian user data will stay in India.
💰 Rumour: ₹8,600/month will make it unaffordable.
Reality: India pricing hasn’t been finalized yet.
🚀 So, what is really preventing it from launching in India 🇮🇳
@Starlink@elonmusk
I don't get this
India's entire data is hosted on Cloud Technology owned by the US and it's allies
India's entire data is run by software owned by US and Israel
India's entire Communication Platform is built on technology owned by the US and it's allies
India's entire Digital Infrastructure is built on technology platforms owned by US and it's allies
So how exactly will Starlink make anything any worse or less secure than it already is?
Pls enlighten me
SpaceX's investor memo reportedly said its data centers would be built "somewhere in the universe."
People laughed.
Read it literally.
SpaceX is reportedly lining up $40 billion in debt to buy Nvidia chips, with the GPUs as collateral.
Bond traders see a rocket company buying chips.
I see the only chip buyer that owns the launch pad.
Everyone else's compute is capped by land, grid and cooling.
Too much debt? Lenders price risk. Builders price the future.
Not a joke.
A roadmap.
Elon Musk named no one. He accused certain oligarchs of blocking Starlink’s final India approvals to protect a telecom monopoly.
Public speculation most often points to Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Jio), given its market dominance, rival satcom plans, and earlier spectrum-auction stance. Official holdups center on pending government security clearances and spectrum rules that also affect other licensees including Jio.
So many paid attackers in the replies. 🤦♂️
To those saying India will build another Starlink: in your dreams. Talented people are leaving India for the same reason. Most of India’s government officials and politicians are corrupt. All it can do is maintain the duopoly.
@elonmusk this is india for you.
Internet is cheap in india when compared to other countries.
So please plan the price
Because cost plays the important role india.
Connection will matter latter
Money comes first
Oligarch and people supporting india.
It's been 4 years and still waiting to hear the good news.
Why do indian government need 4 years? India is fast growing country by Hindi population not GDP
Starlink has sought India approvals since 2022. It got the GMPCS licence in June 2025 and IN-SPACe authorisation in July 2025. Security clearance, FDI approval and spectrum remain pending. 20 gateways are built and ready. SpaceX hopes for launch in 2027. The government says all three licensees are at the same stage.
Indian government creates paper work to prove their innocence.
I am know Starlink is coming to India
But when?
Next year? Or 2 years?
@grok from when is Starlink waiting to be approved so india can have the service?
Indian Govt’s Response to claims made by Elon Musk on X
‘The suggestion that the framework or its application is unfair or discriminatory is baseless and misconceived’
Y are people paying so much for a game which is FIXED(gambling)
Starlink affordable connection will help indians but still not willing to support the citizens
@Newwboy1 In 2008 first IPL match (RCB vs KKR, Chinnaswamy), tickets ranged Rs 100-250 general to ~Rs 5,000 premium.
Now (IPL 2026) they start ~Rs 499-2,300 depending on venue/team, up to Rs 65,800+ for top RCB seats. With 40% GST a base Rs 1,000 ticket costs Rs 1,400 total.
Hope @elonmusk
Everyone understands how we are getting fooled by our own kind.
@grok 1. curb black Money (is stopping corruption right?)
2.India as corrupted people
mr. Adani which year he became indians richest man?
Demonetization started 8 Nov 2016, announced by PM Modi to curb black money, counterfeit notes and terror funding.
Jio commercially launched 5 Sep 2016 with Welcome Offer: free unlimited data/voice/SMS till 31 Dec 2016 for new SIMs. It needed VoLTE-compatible 4G phones (newer devices at the time); older non-VoLTE handsets had limited use.
Jio service became popular because of Modi's team work with Jio family.
@grok 1st question: when and why was demonetization started in india?
2nd question: When did reliance company get jio service " free internet if buy a new sim card" and also
"If u have a new mobile device only"
Sorry to say Elon, you can’t beat those Indian oligarchs even if you’re the richest person alive. Those oligarchs give out the cheapest internet on the planet that even you can’t afford to match. India was basically getting free internet in late 2016, and from 2016 to 2026 the average cost of data crashed down to like 10 cents per gigabyte (₹7 to ₹10) or even less. Nowadays with 5G, these oligarchs are giving out near 1 Gbps speeds for pennies, and home broadband is even cheaper for like $5 to $18 (₹400 to ₹1,500) a month, you get unlimited fiber up to 3.3 TB, speeds up to 1 Gbps, and every major OTT subscription bundled in.
Compare that to your pricing. You’re talking about charging ₹30,000+($300+) upfront just for a dish kit and around ₹8,000+ ($100) every single month. Even if you burn cash and make it free for the first year, the second you hike prices back to Western rates, Indians will completely fuck you over just like how Tesla got fucked in India against local players.
Massive respect to you, of course, because that’s the exact kind of bank balance anyone dreams of having :). Massive respect for that bank balance, and for revolutionizing payments first with email-based money transfer, then electric cars, and then private reusable rockets you’ve inspired a lot of us for literally everything, and everyday, but yeah, India is an entirely different game. Those book theories and MBA frameworks don't work in India in front of Marwari, Jain, or Gujarati maths :). Running the exact same playbook everywhere just doesn't work. If you want to come to India, you have to learn jugaad, cutthroat bargaining, trust, and how to deliver crazy volume at dirt-cheap prices.
Indians are already pulling 1 Gbps speeds for pocket change, so try building an infrastructure that cheap before thinking you can take on these oligarchs. In fact, you should pray those Indian oligarchs don't enter the US or Europe market, because if they bring those prices over there, your bank balance will get completely fucked. Until you drop Starlink down to 5 to 10 cents a gig and make the hardware basically free, nobody here is touching it.
