At the end of April (technically on 1 May UTC), the inaugural Nexa halving occurred. The first block after the halving, 1,050,001, was mined on 1 May 01:36 UTC, with a block reward of 5,000,000 NEXA coins and crossing the 50% of the total supply mark.

April was much about the halving, the team hosted “The New Baseline” spaces on X and successfully concluded Halving Fest 2026 community event.

The date of NEXA's first halving is approaching, and the team will celebrate this milestone with the community.

Halving Fest 2026 is a competition to create the most beautiful and evocative image themed around the halving, with a prize of $250 in $NEXA coins.

The event will start on 23 April 2026 at 12:00 UTC and end on 1 May 2026 at 12:00 UTC. You can use any graphic style, and the genre is up to you: meme, advertisement, documentary, or cartoon.

The trading competition in partnership with Origami has successfully concluded. The community had a good chance to test trading strategies provided by the partners.

The event took place from 30 March to 20 April 2026 and featured automated and grid bot strategies. The results are being evaluated by the Origami team professionals to maintain a fair and equal environment.

All participants will share a reward pool of 6,500,000,000 $NEXA coins, distributed according to the competition rules.

📒 Nexa April Highlights: The First Halving

Over the past couple of weeks, an open trading event has been ongoing in partnership with @origamitech_, with a prize pool of 6.5B $NEXA to be shared among traders.

Also, a new version of Rostrum, 14.0.0, has been released with many improvements and an upgraded database layout.

The main upcoming blockchain event is the Nexa halving in 12 days. Block rewards will be reduced by half, happening approximately on 1 May 2026.

📒 Rostrum: New Release 14.0.0

The team is delighted to introduce the new Rostrum 14.0.0 release. In this upgraded version, you'll find a new database layout along with a switch to postcard serialization, and more updates.

At first run after the upgrade, Rostrum will trigger this reindex automatically. The reindex is required due to both a new database layout and the switch from bincode to postcard serialization.

There is already a patch for Rostrum 14.0.1 available, released just after the initial 14.0.0 release, with a fixed broken lock file and updated dependencies.
