Nexial & CSFEP have developed the Climate Smart Forest Economy System Map, representing a holistic approach for forest & value chain management that maximizes climate & economic benefits while meeting social & ecological safeguards. https://t.co/34qRRpL7tV
In November we launched our System of Children in Families Map in both English and Bulgarian! We were stoked to meet with diverse stakeholders and to hear their first reactions and excitement about the map and how to use it. English map: https://t.co/NdvDMSKEZc @KnowHowCentre
Last month we launched our Learning Ecosystems (LES) Map, which was co-created with @Foundation_JF and experts across the system. We’re excited to share this with the community!

A great article by systems change facilitator Philippe Vandenbroeck that outlines a key issue in our field. There’s a disconnect between the need & demand for systemic approaches, vs the willingness, time & bandwidth to work through complex challenges.

At #COP27, these 14 Pacific nations have 502 delegates between them.
Today we found out that the fossil fuel industry has 636.
This is unacceptable.
"If we go past 2°C of #globalwarming, we will enter completely unknown terrain, a #planet that is not even resembling our own planet, a place we haven't been in for the past 3 million years." PIK Director @jrockstrom in @UNFCCC podcast, tune in!

We can't hide from complexity. Changing established systems is hard work and there are no silver bullets. But it is possible! We need to make systems thinking second nature and work together to build new and resilient systems that meet today’s needs.
#SystemsChange
A system is “an interconnected set of elements that is coherently organized in a way that achieves something (a purpose)” – Donella Meadows. Sounds simple, but our world is messy & complicated. Systems that used to work are no longer appropriate in operation, or even in purpose…
The systems around us are complex & they’ve been around for ages. But what worked then does not work now – the negative impacts are all around us… We need system change, not just change, to evolve these systems to ensure desirable outcomes for future generations.
