The Padres brought in a bunch of diverse pitchers into their rotation who feature these pitches that stand out:
King-Sinker, Sweeper
Thorpe-Slider, Changeup
Vásquez-Curveball, Slider/Cutter
Brito-Fastball, Changeup
From Kings, Vásquez, and Brito’s movement and break, to Thorpe’s command, the Padres got 4 great additions.
In the past years, the #Padres struggled to develop pitchers with great analytics and movement. Now, they have the opportunity to develop 3 young pitchers (Thorpe, Vásquez, Brito) who already bring good analytics under one of, if not, the best pitching coach in the league, Ruben Niebla.
