Washington State Democrats have terminated pension plans for police officers & firefighters, raiding billions to pay for Democrat Spending

It has become the first state in US history to terminate a public employee pension plan.

The legislature in Olympia passed the bill and the related federal lawsuit filed in Seattle.

Governor Bob Ferguson, a Democrat, signed Engrossed Second Substitute House Bill 2034 (E2SHB 2034) into law.

The termination of LEOFF Plan 1 takes effect June 30, 2029.

Details:
🔺️LEOFF Plan 1 covers law enforcement officers and firefighters hired before October 1, 1977.

🔺️It closed to new members decades ago and now serves about 5,500-6,000 mostly retired members and beneficiaries.

🔺️As of the state's own June 2024 actuarial valuation, the plan stood at 160% funded, with a substantial surplus.

🔺️No employer or employee contributions have been required for 25 years since it hit full funding around 2000.

🔺️Projections showed it heading to over 200% funded with a $4.3 billion surplus by 2029.

🔺️The law terminates the existing plan and "restates" it into a new system.

🔺️It transfers enough assets to the new fund to leave it at 110% funded, then sweeps the rest - expected at $3.9 billion - into a pension surplus holding account.

🔺️From there, politicians can redirect it for general spending.

🔺️$569 million goes to the Climate Commitment Account and $880 million goes to refill the rainy day fund that Democrats already drained to cover a deficit they created through overspending.

Other portions eyed climate programs and general budget gaps.

The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Timm Ormsby (D-Spokane), it passed the House 55-39 (every yes vote was a Democrat, while republicans voted no).

The state claims members have a contractual right only to their benefits, not surplus assets, and that ~80% of original contributions came from the state. Critics call this a betrayal of the deal for first responders who risk their lives to protect the public.

Retired first responders sued with former King County Sheriff and Congressman Dave Reichert (R), who served as a LEOFF 1 member since 1972 being the lead plaintiff.

Other plaintiffs include leaders from retired police and firefighter associations.

Many say local and state governments are funding illegal migrants while ripping away pensions for first responders.

We are watching a predictable, preventable slaughter unfold again and again, and the blood is on the hands of every ideologue, every activist, every spineless clinician who insists on “affirming” profound psychiatric distress instead of treating it like the screaming red-flag mental illness it actually is.

Jesse Strang didn’t wake up one day and decide to murder nine people because of “hate” or “bigotry.”

This was a deeply disturbed 17-year-old drowning in untreated gender dysphoria, pumped full of cross-sex hormones starting at fifteen...hormones that flood a still-developing adolescent brain with synthetic testosterone or estrogen, radically altering mood regulation, impulse control, and emotional stability...and medicated with SSRIs known to carry black-box warnings for suicidal ideation and agitation in teens.

That’s not “healthcare.”

That’s chemical warfare on a vulnerable psyche.

Gender dysphoria is a serious psychiatric condition with sky-high rates of comorbid depression, anxiety, autism spectrum traits, trauma histories, and cluster B personality features.

The suicide attempt rate pre-transition is already 40+%, and the best long-term studies..:Sweden, Finland, UK...show that hormones and surgery do not meaningfully reduce that risk.

They often make it worse.

Yet we hand these kids puberty blockers...GnRH agonists originally designed for prostate cancer and chemical castration of sex offenders...that arrest bone maturation, impair cognitive development, and frequently lead to permanent infertility, then follow it up with lifelong exogenous hormones that spike risks of cardiovascular events, thromboembolism, and mood destabilization.

And when the inevitable despair and rage erupt outward instead of inward, we act shocked.

Shocked.

This isn’t transphobia speaking.

This is forensic reality.

This is clinical truth.

We're watching another generation of deeply troubled youth be sacrificed on the altar of ideological capture.

We used to treat dysphoria with intensive psychotherapy aimed at integration and resolution.

Desistance rates were 60-90% with time and proper mental health support.

Now we rush them onto an irreversible medical conveyor belt because questioning “gender identity” is branded hate speech.

The result?

A growing cluster of mass casualty events linked to individuals in the throes of untreated or iatrogenically worsened psychiatric collapse.

The rage doesn’t come from society “rejecting” them.

It comes from a brain under siege...by trauma, by chemicals, by a culture that tells them violence is the only way to finally be seen.

Enough.

Stop lying to these kids.

Stop lying to their parents.

Stop letting pharmaceutical companies and gender clinics profit off despair.

Treat the mental illness aggressively...with real therapy, real boundaries, real protection from irreversible harm...before another classroom becomes a killing floor.

This pipeline of delusion and destruction ends now.

Or we keep burying children because adults were too cowardly to speak the truth.
