Up to 1,500 people remain in Oleshky, including around 40 children. Another 4,000 remain in surrounding villages, including roughly 150 children.

🇺🇦 She was badly wounded. Russian fire was closing in. And still, Viktoriia chose to save another life.

Combat medic Viktoriia Zuieva of Ukraine’s 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade was sent to help wounded soldiers.
The road was under mortar and aerial fire.
And Then the medical vehicle was hit.

The driver was killed. Viktoriia suffered a severe injury. But instead of saving herself, she pulled a wounded doctor from the vehicle and saved his life.

Both of them were evacuated to safety by their fellow soldiers.

Then came six months in a wheelchair and multiple surgeries.

But Viktoriia refused to let her injuries decide her future.

She returned to military service.

For her courage, dedication and service, Viktoriia has received Ukrainian military and state recognition, including the “For Saving a Life” award.

This amazing woman joined the army at the age of 19.
She decided on her own.
Today, she continues serving Ukraine.
