I convened a consultative session with Bailey Consulting Group and senior staff from the state department tasked with developing a strategic plan for the department.
The aim was to assess the progress made thus far and identify any existing gaps.
It is imperative that this strategic plan incorporates measures to guarantee sustainable livelihood projects, strategies for adapting to the effects of climate change, adaptive approaches for agropastoralism agriculture in arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs), and ensuring that our partners align their objectives with the government's BETA agenda.
During the high co-creation workshop on food security and climate resilience in ASALS counties organized by @WFP_Kenya, I stressed the importance of setting our priorities right and executing them comprehensively to ensure the sustainability and resilience of these communities.
It is crucial for our partners to complement government efforts in dryland agriculture, development irrigation infrastructure, construction of dams, and boreholes as these are fundamental to the well-being and sustenance of these communities.
WFP has been a valuable partner in our pursuit of food security, and I express my gratitude for their unwavering support.@LaurenLandis1
The three-day workshop was officially concluded by CS @peninah_malonza Malonza, who was accompanied by her counterpart, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.
Remember, the same God who made a way in the past will continue to make a way for you in the future. Trust in His faithfulness, and He will lead you through every challenge, just as He always has.
The role of musicians in food security can be looked from the lens of advocacy. Here's a clip of a song used in one of the East African Countries to create awareness on one concern of food security.... nutrition.
