Pheochromocytoma is a tumor arising from the adrenomedullary chromaffin cells producing catecholamines: epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine.

Paraganglioma is a tumor from extra-adrenal chromaffin cells of the sympathetic paravertebral ganglia of thorax, abdomen and pelvis.
