@mrjamesob I sign most of the sick notes in a busy GP practice. I can confidently say that long covid is rarely the primary reason. I suspect covid exacerbated a host of underlying and previously controlled long term conditions. COPD, diabetes, anxiety/depression.

@doctor_oxford @NHSEngland Completely agree. Dangerously misleading. All of us should be pushing back against these generic titles. I am an advanced NURSE practitioner and state this clearly with each encounter. This move towards "clinician" or "specialist" without background or context is shady.

@medicalmodelbri Between a Dr and a Nurse? What does that mean? On what scale? ANPs diagnose (including ordering imaging etc) and treat (including prescribing), have a healthcare degree and Masters and some of us have more than 30 years experience in NHS.
