@mrjamesob I sign most of the sick notes in a busy GP practice. I can confidently say that long covid is rarely the primary reason. I suspect covid exacerbated a host of underlying and previously controlled long term conditions. COPD, diabetes, anxiety/depression.
@doctor_oxford@NHSEngland Completely agree. Dangerously misleading. All of us should be pushing back against these generic titles. I am an advanced NURSE practitioner and state this clearly with each encounter. This move towards "clinician" or "specialist" without background or context is shady.
@Ask_foradoctor Listen up cupcake...we ALL want more doctors. No-one is anti-doctor. We are advanced practitioners and not doctors and do not want to be. We hate the underfunding of doctors in GP/secondary care. Hope this clears things up a bit for you.
@medicalmodelbri Between a Dr and a Nurse? What does that mean? On what scale? ANPs diagnose (including ordering imaging etc) and treat (including prescribing), have a healthcare degree and Masters and some of us have more than 30 years experience in NHS.
@sainsburys online shopping delivery. Tofu delivered opened and dry (should be in water). Offensive smelling. No way to email or complete form on-line. Need refund. Cheers.
@Dr_Done_@shakeywith Wow!! Who would do all the LTC management, menopause management, family planning, minor illness, care plans, vaccine management, LD reviews, smears, baby imms, wound management? And as an ANP my patients often prefer me to you so it wouldn't be a popular choice.
@Xeon4f145d96s1@OcoRory Define "being a doctor". Healthcare is a venn diagram of professions and skills.
Twitter seems full of angry Doctors who readily demonstrate their lack of knowledge of other professions that they share this space with. It's tedious.
@Dr_Done_@UHNM_NHS@TracyBullock12 And nor do I want to be, however there are many many crossover skills and some (hold onto your pink shirt), that I do a lot better. To coin a frustrating modern phrase "you do you".
It's not ideal to have non docs standing in for docs but your tone is BS. "lesser"??
@SteveBarclay Well... This is clearly total hogwash. "More" is misleading. Think you may mean you have replaced full time experienced senior clinicians with part-time inexperienced/trainee ones no?
