For #VolunteerWeek some of the team visited Abernecessities, a local charity, to teach live saving CPR skills and safe use of a Public Access Defibrillator to the volunteers.

Last night a few members of the team volunteered their time to update @AberdeenMRT on their basic life support skills.
This includes assessing for signs of life, high quality chest compressions, safe use of a dibrillator and airway managment.

Thank you to the team in Ward 205 who participated in our simulation yesterday. Taking learning out of the classroom and into clinical areas is an important part of applying skills to a real life situation. Well done team! #ProudToBeNHSG

Women are less likely to receive bystander CPR or have a defib used in a cardiac arrest.
In Scotland, women make up 36% of all out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. This amounts to about 1,200 women per year.
