🚨 People really need to stop acting like PSG’s attack is on a completely different level to Arsenal’s because the facts simply do not support that narrative.
PSG, a team many call the “best attack in Europe,” have scored 71 league goals in Ligue 1 this season.
Arsenal, a team constantly criticised for “having no striker,” “having the worst attack,” or “not being clinical enough,” have scored 68 Premier League goals with 2 games still left to play.
Now let’s talk context because numbers without context can be misleading.
Arsenal are doing this in the Premier League, arguably the toughest and most competitive league in world football. Every week, Arsenal face teams with strong defensive structures, high intensity football, and little room to dominate comfortably.
PSG play in Ligue 1 where, realistically, the quality gap between them and most teams is much bigger. They often dominate possession and have far less resistance compared to what Premier League teams face weekly.
Another important fact people ignore is that Arsenal have achieved these numbers despite major attacking setbacks this season.
Bukayo Saka missed games through injury. Gabriel Jesus struggled with fitness issues. Kai Havertz spent part of the season adapting and playing multiple roles. Arsenal have also had periods where fans complained about poor finishing and lack of ruthlessness in front of goal.
Yet despite all that, Arsenal are still just 3 goals behind PSG with games remaining.
People also forget Arsenal do not rely on one superstar attacker. Their goals are spread across the squad. Wingers, midfielders, fullbacks, and forwards all contribute, which makes them one of the most balanced attacking teams in Europe.
This is not about saying Arsenal’s attack is definitely better than PSG’s because PSG have elite forwards and deserve credit for their numbers. But acting like there is some huge attacking gap between the two teams is simply false.
One team supposedly has the “best attack in Europe.” The other supposedly has “the worst attack.”
Yet one has 71 goals and the other has 68 with two games left in a harder league.
The facts speak for themselves. ❤️💯
