Breaking: A federal judge has officially granted Jett Elad’s motion to block the NCAA’s 5-year eligibility rule, per Civil Action No. 25-1981.
The ruling orders the NCAA to let Elad play at Rutgers for the 2025–26 season and prevents them from enforcing the rule based on his time at junior college.
While other courts have ruled differently, this decision adds momentum for athletes seeking a 6th year of eligibility. The judge called on higher courts to settle the issue once and for all.

The sooner there is a final decision on the House v NCAA settlement, the better. The validity of so many agreements signed by schools and athletes over the past few months hangs in the balance.
While many assume, absent approval, schools will pivot to make good on negotiated terms, there are no assurances unless the athletes have retained counsel to bargain for protections.
To be clear, this isn’t a reason for Judge Wilken to approve the settlement although much of the sports biz industry believes she will.
Anyhow, we should soon have clarity, which is a good thing. That said, appeals and lawsuits will follow.
This won’t be the beginning of the end; it’s the end of the beginning.

NEWS: The NCAA Division I Board of Directors has granted a waiver to permit athletes who attended and competed at a non-NCAA school for 1 or more years to remain eligible and compete in 2025-26 if those athletes would have otherwise used their final season of competition during the 2024-25 academic year, and meet all other eligibility requirements (e.g., progress toward degree, five-year period of eligibility).
NCAA Board votes to appeal the Diego Pavia court ruling but also grants a waiver for junior college players in a similar position as Pavia, paving the way for the extension of the careers of hundreds of former junior college players.
EDGE Fadil Diggs (92 Grade by 247Sports) might be my favorite defender in the Transfer Portal.
Elite length with premium movement skills and effort. He's super versatile, but I think Texas A&M misused him some by moving around too much. Could have elite production if allowed to settle into a full-time role as a DE. Focus primarily on getting to QB.
I had him at a 94.5 Grade based on our algo. Very high on his NFL upside if he goes to the right scheme, think he could turn into a Day 2 draft pick.
