If you’re a hyperactive, high agency type of guy, the only path where you don’t go insane is entrepreneurship. It’s the only life that will stimulate you enough and put you in different situations and problems that actually make your brain function. The more you try to tame that energy the less you will feel alive. Some of us were made for complexity and ambiguity. The safe path is the most dangerous one. You know deep down you’re made for something different. Business is what gives you that. Avoid traditional jobs at all costs. Of course the price is high stress, uncertainty and lots of ups and downs… but let’s be honest, would you have it any other way? No. It’s too boring.
@Rainmaker1973 At 6-7 mph the benefit becomes useful to anyone endurance training for mountaineering - which was my tactic to prepare for altitude while living at sea level. Easier for me to run at that pace uphill than learn to run much faster on a flat surface to get the same aerobic benefit.
@W7ENK @_The_Mike_Man_@WeatherJefe Yes - Hogsback to Pearly Gates. I went up that way about 10 years ago. The top part of the route is icy and steep and requires crampons/axe. Some protection is a good idea so you don't slide into the fumarole and need emergency rescue, but I've seen some people go without.
@elerianm@jasonfurman@WSJ 2% was set as a target when the Fed was trying to keep inflation off 0. They needed to set some expectation for some inflation. Now they need to set an expectation for some inflation but not too much, so a range is appropriate and would limit volatility and fixation. Set it 2-3%
@HaleJamesB@ZachsORoutdoors@KOBITV I did not use the Spruce Island Viewpoint parking, as mentioned in the article, but a parking area south of there, closer to the Google Maps secret beach trail head marker. GMaps has caused trouble for me before, but in this case, I think road/trail signage is more of an issue.
@HaleJamesB@ZachsORoutdoors@KOBITV I used the trailhead marked by Google Maps, and then the faint trail lines on GMaps to make sure I was headed the right way when I visited last summer. Due to no road signs, I initially missed the turn out and had to double back. Its a small scramble at the bottom of the trail.
@RayDess14 @HarlotPrincessx Nice thread. I did pretty well in Evolution after Genetics and understood this pretty well. Then my professor threw in plants and multiple sets of chromosomes and I realized I know nothing. Biology is complicated.
@HarlotPrincessx I’ve always wondered how many 23 and me and other genetic testing services have discovered sex chromosome variants, whether or not they report them to customers, and what the frequencies are.
Rest In Peace, Edward, my hiking companion. Today his journey ends. Sending ❤️ to the thousands who met Edward on the trails or followed his adventures. "He came like the wind, like the wind touched everything, and like the wind was gone." #PetsOfTime
Paquita, Coppelia, Unspoken, The Part that is Missing - ballets brought to life by the students of Oregon Ballet Theater this weekend in Portland. Beautiful!
