the healthcare crisis is a government creation
1910: doctors compete prices fall quality rises anyone can practice medicine
1910-1920: AMA lobbies for licensing laws competitors shut out supply restricted prices rise
1943: wage controls during WWII companies can't raise wages so they offer health insurance instead tax exemption created
now insurance is tied to employment
1965: medicare and medicaid passed government becomes largest healthcare buyer demand surges prices surge
1973: certificate of need laws hospitals need government permission to expand supply restricted again
2010: ACA mandates coverage insurers must cover pre-existing conditions premiums double
every crisis in healthcare follows government intervention
every solution proposed is more government intervention
the free market didn't fail in healthcare
it was never allowed to operate
A lot of what people call “capitalism” is just cronyism.
And a lot of what people call “socialism” is just “I want less poverty and more equality” from people who were never taught the difference between inequality and poverty, or the basic history of what happens when governments control the economy.
@sithlordnergal1@Trollfina@Ocho_Loko@sirDukeDevin It's impossible to know the ins and outs of any type of bias. Combating bias is an individual problem. Stop looking at race. Teach your kids the same. But you cant fight racism with good intentioned racism. You just need to stop being a racist.
@sithlordnergal1@Trollfina@Ocho_Loko@sirDukeDevin 20% of doctors are Asian, Asians are 6% of the us population. Is this proof of widespread anti white bias in the medical field? Or is it something about Asian culture that prioritizes academic success? Nahhhh must be racism.
@sithlordnergal1@Trollfina@Ocho_Loko@sirDukeDevin You're solving precieved potential racism with guaranteed racism. Individual bias can not be proven or quantified. So a one sized fits all quota guarantees people are being intentionally denied because of their skin color. That's racism. Stop treating me like im black.
@sithlordnergal1@Trollfina@Ocho_Loko@sirDukeDevin Why do you assume that simply removing bias would result in 50% being non white men? Why do you assume there is already bias? Men and women make different choices, different cultures produce people with different priorities.
@sithlordnergal1@Trollfina@Ocho_Loko@sirDukeDevin A 50% racial quota is textbook racism. Fighting racism with racism just makes more racism. Denying the 2501st white applicant a spot at school based solely off of the color of his skin is racist and fixes nothing. It only causes more division.
@sithlordnergal1@Trollfina@Ocho_Loko@sirDukeDevin There are no unbalanced scales. Even if there was, being racist but with good intentions is still racism. I don't want any person or institution to treat me like im black. Treat me like a human being. My race should be irrelevant. Having a quota makes it relevant.
@Consolekyo@jackvlloyd Thats backwards AF. Competition is what drives efficiency. The problem we have now is government dictating who, what, when, where, and how anything can be built. This housing crisis is manufactured by central planning.
@BenjaminDictor@Nikkon2025 The fact that he was able to buy the property is evidence that he created value. Maintaining and managing a property for you to live in is also value.
