The common take since this surfaced years ago was that 'the Iraqis simply stole the missing $500 billion!'

At this point, given what we've seen over the last year and a half since Trump's hostile takeover of the US federal government began, I wouldn't be so sure the IRAQIS stole most of this money.

In a kickback scheme, the NGO or middleman takes a CUT of the money to be stolen/laundered, they don't keep MOST of it.

The people sending the money THERE are the ones that will get MOST of it back, after the entity kicking it back to them takes their cut of it.

Organized Crime Nation [that's my name for the US affiliate of the Transnational Crime Syndicate] has been looting our Defense Department here in the United States for a very long time now.

It should be recalled that on Sept. 10, 2001, the Defense Dept. was forced into the ADMISSION that over $2 trillion of US taxpayers money had...vanished. They didn't know where it went or who had it. They announced they were investigating this.

And then the very next day, a plane [or...something!] just happened to hit the Pentagon directly where the accounting office was located, where much of the evidence to track the missing $2 trillion had been very helpfully placed. Some of the rest of it were in accounting records in offices that disappeared that very same day at the World Trade Center.

Even the people high up in the US federal gov't that weren't in on the theft of the $2 trillion **clearly** understood the MESSAGE that was delivered by some pissed off people on that September morn: "BACK THE **FUCK** OFF OF THIS AND QUIT FUCKING LOOKING OR FUCKING TALKING ABOUT IT."

So they did. They did back off of it, they did stop investigating it [what was left to investigate, anyway?] and they did stop talking about it.

And then the whole cycle started up again, as they set about stealing and laundering the NEXT $2 trillion to themselves.

Nobody walks away from this.
